White Water Rafting Pacuare

We depart San Jose towards the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica including a stop for breakfast. On route, there will a boat tour along the Tárcoles River where we will observe crocodiles, water birds and migratory birds.

San Jose City Tour
This tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of San José. It begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards we will visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica.
We will continue heading to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various sites of interest. Rain Forest Aerial Tram
Twenty minutes outside of San Jose you will cross the Continental Divide and enter Braulio Carrillo National Park. After a half hour trip through the park, the bus will reach a 1000 acre private reserve of virgin forest.
Open-sided vehicles shuttle passengers from the parking area to the Visitor\'s Center. The shuttle trip provides an introduction to the forest, as visitors pass a small river and numerous tree snags with nesting holes of various birds - the White Hawk is regularly seen here, as well as the Pale-billed Woodpecker and many others.
After a quick briefing on canopy exploration and the construction of the tram, visitors divide into smaller groups for a 45 to 90 minute (optional) nature walk with a trained naturalist guide. The trails are well-groomed and provide an excellent introduction to the rain forest.
Time now to board the Aerial Tram. The Open-sided cable-cars hold 5 passengers and a guide. The guides are quite knowledgeable about flora and fauna. The return leg of the ride reveals the most dramatic portion of the trip as the cars glide on a breath-taking journey through and above the airy canopy.

Costa Rica Colonial No se trata de un fenómeno nuevo, sino que es el resultado de una larga política de consolidación permanente y con pautas sociales que provienen de los tiempos coloniales además de unos factores inigualables geográficos y culturales. Costa Rica, no fue muy tenida en cuenta durante la etapa de colonización por los españoles, quizás la razón fue debido a que se encontraba alejada de Guatemala que era la sede de los gobernadores coloniales. Solo 330 colones españoles fueron los que reclamaron tierras en Costa Rica en 1611. No encontraban en Costa Rica lo que los colonos de entonces buscaban, riquezas minerales (oro y plata) y poblaciones indígenas abundantes para dedicar al trabajo. Al igual que Guatemala y El Salvador, también Costa Rica fue explotada con la cosecha de café en el siglo XIX. Llegaron los capitales extranjeros y los inmigrantes que establecieron comercios, se desarrollo a través de esta industria el ferrocarril y las carreteras en el país. La equitativa tenencia de tierras y la ausencia de indígenas no crearon la tensión racial lo que evitó los enfrentamientos armados, las guerras de clases y el militarismo que si acompaño a la industria del café en algunos de los países vecinos. Quizás el mayor modernizador de Costa Rica, el presidente Tomás Guardia Gutiérrez fue quien proyecto la construcción de un ferrocarril en 1871 desde la meseta central hasta las escarpadas montañas de Puerto Limón en el Océano Atlántico. 
Costa Rica Colonial
Esta súper empresa ha desarrollado una gran influencia en la región, fue la compañía quien creo una red ferroviaria en casi todo el país hasta incluso financió gran parte de la deuda nacional de Costa Rica. Durante el desarrollo de la primera guerra mundial, la industria del grano sufrió un gran revés ya que el precio del grano estaba por el piso. El presidente Alfredo Gonzáles Flores creo un impuesto sobre la renta y utilizó el ejercito con mano dura coartando algunos de los principio en Costa Rica como eran la liberta de expresión. Gonzáles Flores era un presidente de transición después de elecciones en las que ningún partido logro imponerse. Fue derrocado por los hermanos Tinoco, este nuevo régimen no fue reconocido por los EEUU gobierno que apoyaba la gestión del ex presidente Gonzáles Flores ya que este defendió muchos de los intereses de EEUU en Costa Rica durante su gestión mientras que los hermanos Tinoco estaban en defensa de los intereses de Inglaterra en la región. Ya en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, fueron varios los países de la región que se relacionaron con los regimenes fascistas de Alemania e Italia. Costa Rica tuvo una postura distinta, el entonces presidente Calderón Guardia hizo la declaración de guerra contra Alemania incluso antes que los EEUU, incluso llevo adelante la confiscación de propiedades de origen Alemán relacionadas a la industria del Café. Costa Rica ColonialEl presidente Figueres, fue absolutamente anti-comunista. Realizo alianzas con los productores de café. Desestimo varios de los logros de Calderón. En las siguiente elecciones (1948) el ganador fue Ulate Calderón pero las fuerzas anularon las elecciones y arrestaron a Ulate. Figueres logró reunir un pequeño ejercito y se rebeló con lo que dio lugar a una guerra civil en la que fueron derrotados y debieron exiliarse en México. Limón se conecta con San José directamente por la autopista 32 conocida también como autopista Guápiles. Limón es hoy día un pueblo con actividad casi exclusivamente turística pero en su momento fue un puerto con gran movimiento provocado principalmente por la exportación bananera de Costa Rica. Este pintoresco pueblo del Este de Costa Rica se maquilla con infinidad de colores transformándose en un lugar de festejo y diversión durante la época de Carnaval. Heredia (Región Montañas del Norte)

Estruendosos ríos, imperdibles caídas de agua y densos bosques tropicales van definiendo el paisaje de esta montañosa región. Dentro del Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo, se encuentra el Volcán Barva que es quizás, dentro de la gran lista de opciones a visitar en Heredia, la excursión predilecta de los turistas. Al Norte de Heredia se encuentran los Parques Nacionales Braulio Carrillo y Tapante, con exuberante vida salvaje y densa vegetación. Allí se puede disfrutar de el avistamiento del Quetzal, que es uno de los pájaros de mayor significado cultura no solo en Costa Rica, sino que de toda America Central.
